Feeltimes is an established, innovative, and trusted brand in wedding dresses.

What is it enjoy being plus-size along with a bride? Well, to become quite honest, it sucks. Many women dream of their wedding gowns and the things they will seem like; some brides-to-be know exactly the things they want before they start shopping. For me, this wasn't the situation. Growing up I was always considered “bigger” compared to average size, and I currently wear a size 14. I have been confronted with clothing challenges to my well-being, including the inability to find clothes during my size or current trends.

I got engaged to my mate two years ago, and, much like every other bride, the look and daydreaming quickly began. I was in the living room wasting ideas with my fiancé when suddenly the idea of my wedding gown came to mind. I immediately began to dread it. It wasn't going to become as easy for me. I knew I would not be able to just enter a bridal shop and try on any dress I would like. I knew I had to complete my research to discover who sold plus-size dresses.

With the present demand for inclusivity, I assumed that there had to become something available. “It can’t be that difficult,” I thought. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The first issue I ran into was with my search on the internet and Pinterest. Representation of real plus-size brides for inspiration was non-existent. Many of the plus-size dresses were in outdated styles or just not to my taste, but that didn't alter the fact I needed a gown.

My first appointment was in a local bridal shop, and I had my mother and future mother-in-law beside me. As a model, I knew in the future prepared: I bought three various kinds of shapewear along with a strapless bra. I had previously selected dresses I liked using the bridal shop through their online portal, which meant they'd be ready for me when I arrived. As it ended up, just one dress was during my size. The rest I would need to squeeze into.

The dresses I had to go with made me feel awful about myself. When walking out, I was told, “I know this is not your size, but we will need to imagine it.” I turned around and noticed they couldn't even clasp the rear. I couldn't even imagine what the rear would seem like since it is far aside from even closing. The front view is unflattering because of the fit, and I thought, “Imagine? Who would ever wish to 'imagine' what their dress is going to seem like for the most important day of my entire life without even understanding how it will truly fit?" My mother began taking photos every excited mom would.

Looking back on the photos, I see that I didn't smile and was sucking on my stomach, as I “tried to imagine” what I might seem like on my big day.

Old feelings returned from my childhood when my mother and I were in the mall, not able to find a simple set of jeans for me personally to try because “plus-size” offerings for teens were just nonexistent. This time, the sensation was a little worse since my future mother-in-law was present. I was completely embarrassed. At some point, I had an outfit pinned towards the front of my body system because I could not get it past my hips. This was the choice way of “seeing” the gown on. How ridiculous is the fact that?

I was fortunate enough for my second go-around to possess found in feeltimes. They paid attention to what I wanted, and never only did every dress she had me try fit, but I loved every option.

Although feeltimes includes a healthy choice of plus size wedding dresses, I can't assist to think why don't you move? Why are we not seeing designers, brands, and boutiques carrying a proper size selection in two of their stores and collections once the average dress dimensions are 14 in America? Everyone is worthy, regardless of what size they're. We all deserve to possess that special moment of fitting and searching for our wedding gown. I mean, it's one of the biggest times of our lives, right?
