Welcome to the ESO Gold Farming Guide. This gold farming guide shows an easy way to make gold in ESO. You can make around 60-100k gold per hour with this method, this test was done in 2020, nowadays you can probably make closer to 200k a hour because prices are so inflated. You farm materials which you can directly sell or refine to extract gold materials. These materials can then be sold on the open market to make easy money in ESO.
Flip Goods for a Living
No matter what some low-balling Baandari peddler tells you in a /zone chat or on a forum, Elder Scrolls Online’s player economy is still home to the hottest chunk of capital in Tamriel. The sole problem for newbies here is that ESO doesn’t have a centralized marketplace, which may understandably throw off seasoned players of traditional MMOs such as World of Warcraft. Instead, each member of a guild can post, at maximum, 30 listings (individual items or item stacks sold directly) on its Guild Store that are only visible to other members of the same guild. If a guild wants its members to sell to the rest of the world, it must rent a Guild Trader; an NPC merchant that any random player can approach and purchase items from.
Guild Traders are permanently bound to specific locations in cities or in remote areas and, when speaking to one, you will only see item listings from the guild that’s renting it. In practice, this means the market is comprised of many walled gardens rather than a singular ecosystem. The result is chaos, confusion, and inconsistent item prices. That’s why it’s considered necessary to use Tamriel Trade Center at a minimum. This addon gives you global price listing information on each item in the game, essentially aggregating all of an item’s listings from other players running the program. We also recommend Master Merchant for the more serious traders out there. Whereas TTC shows listing prices, Master Merchant only shows completed purchases from guilds that you are in. It has significantly less data as a result, but at least you know those sales were completed. You can also choose to run both addons at the same time, but make sure you don’t confuse MM data for TTC data, or vice versa.
Once you’ve set up Tamriel Trade Centre by running the separate executable client before you log in, your next step is to maximize the Guild Trader system. Fill all five of your guild slots with trading guilds that have a dedicated trader. This may take some searching, but that’s what the new Guild Finder is for. Preferably, you’ll want each of your traders to operate in a distinct part of the world.
Find and resell items in guild stores.
We already talked about Tamriel Trade Center, and how you can find almost everything for sale on your ESO Server.
Like in the real world you can buy stuff cheap and sell with a profit.
This does not only take time but also knowledge.
You need to research what price items sell at and keep an open eye on TTC to find the best deals.
You can also bet on what will happen next in Elder Scrolls Online, if you read patch notes, try stuff out on PTS before changes go live, you could spot trends before they happen.
If there is a big change in some gear set, you might want to buy up everything you can, before prices go up.
Don’t get greedy, you might end up with a bunch of items you won’t be able to sell because the proclaimed changes never hit the Live Servers or even though they did, the changes weren’t enough to make people want to use them.
Motifs
Fashion Per Second is a huge economy in ESO, and Motifs are how you obtain that fashion. Does someone else look cool as they walk by? It's almost certain they are using a Motif to augment the way the gear looks.
Here's how you can get then sell or learn them: Motifs can be earned in many ways, and usually, the more difficult to earn and the newer the motif is, the better it sells. The best-selling ones are the Vet DLC Dungeon Motifs, as they are difficult for many players to farm. If you are up to it, they have a guaranteed chance to drop on Veteran Hard mode. They have a 50% chance or so to drop on Veteran mode, and on Normal mode, it's a smaller chance.
Another way to earn Motifs is through the DLC zone daily quest. Look for the NPCs with the blue arrow over their heads, which denotes a daily quest. When you turn these in, you have a chance to receive a Motif as a reward, which can sometimes sell very well.
Selling items to other players requires you to be in a Trading Guild with access to a guild trader. If you don't have access to one of these, you can try selling in Zone Chat or focus on one other option.
Daily quests
All DLC areas have daily quests which reward motifs. It sounds like obvious advice, but many of these can be very profitable.
By the time you read this prices may change, but I’ve found Summerset and Murkmire dailies to be one of the most profitable ones. Not only can you get decently valuable motifs (5,000g+), but also other valuables:
All three Summerset dailies award Culanda Lacquer style material every time. This sells for 3,000g a pop. This is guaranteed 9,000g per day (and per character, if you wish).
Murkmire dailies very often reward Hackwing Plumage (over 1,500g) and Crocodile Leather (200g) style materials.
To sweeten the deal, each daily quest completion will also give you over 300g on top of other item rewards.
Motifs from newer DLCs are generally more expensive. It’s highly recommended to start doing daily quests for motifs as soon as possible if you have access to any newly released DLC. In the first few days prices are insanely high, often reaching over 100,000g per motif page.
