CAT & NUNG: REAL BRIDE STORY

We were built with a small, intimate wedding on 31st July 2021 with only 16 guests.

We had to lessen our numbers because of covid, therefore we are planning on a large party on our 1st anniversary for anyone who was not able to attend the legal wedding. We got married at St George's Hall registry office having a beautiful dinner and reception in the Pen Factory in Liverpool.

Six years back, we met on Tinder striking it off immediately. Nung proposed right before the pandemic hit, in a drum and bass gig in our favorite DJ, Calibre. I walked on the aisle to 1 of Calibre's tracks and the first gig we visited post-lockdown. Wedding planning was really simple actually. I am accustomed to being an instructor so I'm accustomed to spreadsheets and organizing, and as the pandemic unfolded around us we were built with a limited selection of suppliers… which made decision-making easier! We were built with a sense your day planned may not go ahead, therefore we planned B for the smaller wedding.

We knew we wanted a rustic theme. And as I am a wedding Macrame artist, I wanted to produce something for my wedding! The great thing about these backdrops and dreamcatchers is that they can be kept. So our dried flowers and my macrame creations could be kept for next year's party and our very own forever keepsakes. When we found out we'd to downsize, the Pen Factory was perfect as it's bright, friendly, and informal, and that we could hang my macrame creations too! Here

I thought I knew precisely what kind of dress I wanted, I was built with a Pinterest board so long as my arm… but my shortlist became completely different and when I tried on my simple wedding dresses I found I had no idea what I wanted!

The funny thing is, my friends kept asking if I could or would macrame my dress. The dress I wound up choosing does like quite similar, however, it's not at all my handiwork! I must have tried on 20 dresses and wound up buying the dress from FeelTimes.

When I first saw the gown I wasn't sure I liked it, but I used it on because of some encouragement from Vittoria, and I fell deeply in love with the lace detail. When I was told it may be customized, I was hooked. I knew I wanted a strapless dress, so Vittoria and Pina managed to get strapless having a sweetheart neckline and attached a nude underskirt therefore the lace stood out all the way through and made armbands in the removed sleeves. Moral from the story- sometimes you don't understand what you want before you try it on!

I cannot recommend Bridal Couture Italia enough. They are a household store and extremely do treat you want a member that belongs to the family. They paid attention to what I wanted, and knew me much better than I knew myself! I made a bespoke wedding dreamcatcher to allow them to say thank you. It replaced the 'I said Yes! to the gown' and today hangs around the wall of the shop. I just love seeing happy brides-to-be stand alongside it!

The big day itself was perfect- apart from nobody's taxis standing on time! My favorite part was whenever we sent all of the guests on the Mersey Ferry River Cruise while Nung and I went for a walk with this photographer and friend, Chris around Albert Dock. My advice for future brides is to locate time for you and your new spouse only the two of you… we popped into the Turncoat Gin bar for any GT planning on being empty, however, it was packed, and we got a round of applause!
